Postdoctoral contract with at IMDEA Nanociencia - Madrid, Spain
Project: Room-Temperature Quantum Effects in Single-Molecule Circuits
Candidate profile:
• PhD in chemistry, physics or related fields.
• Previous experience of scanning probe microscopy techniques, particularly related to molecular electronics, will be highly appreciated.
• Knowledge of Matlab will also be valued.
Activities to carry out:
• Plan and carry out single-molecule conductance experiments on porphyrin nanoribbons using the Scanning Tunneling Microscope (STM) Breakjunction technique, with a focus on measuring the molecular Seebeck coefficient.
• Perform analysis of results obtained from the single-molecule measurements.
• Electrochemical characterisation studies on monolayers of porphyrin nanoribbons.
• Help in the construction of a new STM.
Further information
This project is to be carried out at the Madrid Institute for Advanced Studies in Nanoscience (IMDEA Nanociencia) placed at Cantoblanco Campus in Madrid (Spain).
