DESCRIPTION

IMDEA Energy is opening a Postdoctoral Position for the Photoactivated Processes Unit, looking for talented and motivated candidates to work on the productions of Solar Fuels by Photo(thermo)catalytic processes.

Tasks Description:

  • Design and synthesis of photo(thermo)catalysts.
  • Advanced characterization of catalysts using different physicochemical and optoelectronic techniques, including in situ and operando spectroscopies.
  • Photo(thermo)catalytic testing (at lab scale and semi-pilot plant scale). Catalytic tests may include CO2 reduction, hydrogen production from water, and N2 fixation to ammonia.
  • Design of photo(thermo)catalytic reactors.
  • Generation of research outputs and contribution to research with independent and original ideas.
  • Communication and dissemination of research results through high-quality scientific channels, which include high-impact scientific publications, conferences, workshops, etc.
  • Writing project proposals for national and international calls related to the research topic.
  • Supervision of doctoral, master's or bachelor degree students.
REQUIREMENTS

Compulsory Requirements:

  • PhD. degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Chemical engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience on catalysis or photocatalysis

Other merits to value:

  • Accredited experience on heterogeneous catalysis, particularly photocatalysis and/or photothermal catalysis.
  • Experience on general characterization and photo(thermo)catalytic testing.
  • Knowledge on reactor engineering.
  • Good track record of indexed scientific publications.
  • Proven oral and written communication skills in English.
SELECTION CRITERIA
  • Adequacy of the candidate's training to the requested profile.
  • Work experience related to the profile of the job position.
  • Knowledge of English.
  • Motivation for accomplishing high-quality research.
CONDITIONS
  • Remuneration: Between 38.000 € – 41.000€ per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.

           *The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.

  • Duration of the contract: Until the end of the project, with the possibility of extension.
  • Inmediate Incorporation
