PREDOCTORAL RESEARCHER POSITION TO WORK ON SELF DRIVING LAB DEDICATED TO PHOTOELECTROCATALYSIS REACTIONS

IMDEA Energy Institute is a María de Maeztu Center of Excellence whose objective is to develop R&D activities in the fields of renewable energies and clean energy technologies by establishing strong links with leading companies in the energy sector. (www.energy.imdea.org).

DESCRIPTION

IMDEA Energy is opening a Predoctoral Researcher position for the Photoactivated Processes Unit, looking for talented and motivated candidates to work on Materials Self-driving Lab.

The requirements are as follows:

Tasks Description:

  • Synthesis of thin film based on photoactive metal oxides.
  • Characterization of structural, optical and morphological properties of those materials.
  • Characterization of photoelectrochemical properties those materials.
  • Process and analyze experimental data using machine learning algorithms and artificial intelligence.
  • Operate, maintain, and install specialized laboratory equipment/instruments relevant to Catalysis experiments.
  • Work on integrating autonomous systems into the experimental setup.
  • Collaborate with experts in robotics or automation to enhance experimental efficiency.
  • Prepare reports and contribute to research papers for publication.
REQUIREMENTS

Compulsory Requirements:

  • B.Sc. in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Engineering or similar.
  • MSc. degree in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or similar

Other merits to value:

  • Accredited experience on (Photo)electrochemistry.
  • Knowledge on structural, optical and morphological properties.
  • Experience on general characterization and photoelectrochemical measurements.
  • Experience on Applying machine learning models/algorithms to predict and evaluate experimental data and catalytic experiments.
  • Knowledge on Computer Science applied to new materials discovery.
  • Proven oral and written communication skills in English.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA
  • Adequacy of the candidate's training to the requested profile.
  • Work experience related to the profile of the job position.
  • Knowledge of English.
  • Motivation for accomplishing high-quality research.
CONDITIONS
  • Remuneration: Between 21.000€ – 23.500€ per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.

*The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.

  • Contract: 1 year, possibility of renewal depending on performance.
