DESCRIPTION

IMDEA Energy is opening a Research Assistant position for the Systems Analysis Unit, looking for talented and motivated candidates to work on the the simulation, technical and environmental analysis of processes for the production of sustainable aviation fuels from waste in the MAD VUELA SOSTENIBLE project. In particular, the MAD VUELA SOSTENIBLE, a project granted by the Regional Government of Madrid, aims to research on new technologies to produce sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) with a low carbon footprint from wastes.

The requirements are as follows:

Tasks Description:

  • Simulation of processes for the production of sustainable aviation fuels from waste.
  • Techno-economic assessment of processes for the production of sustainable aviation fuels from waste.
  • Life cycle assessment of processes for the production of sustainable aviation fuels from waste.
  • Dissemination and publication of research results in international scientific journals and conferences.
REQUIREMENTS

Compulsory Requirements:

  • BSc Degree in Chemical, Environmental, Energy or Industrial Technology Engineering, or equivalent.

Merits to value:

  • Official Master's Degree in Chemical, Environmental, Energy, or Industrial Engineering, or other MSc related to the job position offered.
  • Knowledge of process simulation acquired during BSc or MSc, or professional experience.
  • Knowledge of techno-economic assessment of processes.
  • Knowledge of life cycle assessment of processes.
  • Participation in similar projects is an asset.
  • Oral and written communication skills in English
SELECTION CRITERIA
  • Adequacy of the candidate's training to the requested profile.
  • Work experience related to the profile of the job position.
  • Knowledge of English.
  • Motivation for accomplishing high-quality research.
CONDITIONS
  • Remuneration: Between 18.000 € – 20.000 € per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.

           *The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.
