DESCRIPTION

IMDEA Energy is opening a postdoctoral researcher position for the Advanced Porous Materials Unit, looking for talented and motivated candidates to work on the Catalysts based on metal organic frameworks (MOFs) for CO2 conversion in the MAD VUELA SOSTENIBLE project. In particular, the MAD VUELA SOSTENIBLE, a project granted by the Regional Government of Madrid, aims to research on new technologies to produce sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) with a low carbon footprint from wastes.

The requirements are as follows:

Tasks Description:

  • Monitoring of the state of the art of the fundamentals and technological advances related to the project.
  • Design, synthesis, surface engineering and full characterization of new catalysts based on MOFs and their composites.
  • Catalytic testing
  • Discussion and critical analysis of the experimental results.
  • Dissemination and publication of research results in scientific journals.
  • Supervision of undergraduate and graduate staff working in the R&D unit.
  • Participation in proposals preparation and management national and international research projects.
REQUIREMENTS

Compulsory Requirements

  • PhD degree in Chemistry, Material Sciences, or equivalent, completed in the last 5 years.
  • Demonstrated experience and solid background on synthesis (crystalline inorganic and/or coordination materials), modification (composites) and characterization (XRD, fluid sorption, spectroscopies, microscopies, TGA, etc.)

Other merits to value:

  • Appreciated knowledge on heterogeneous catalysis and related techniques (GC, HPLC, etc.).
  • Experience on mentoring.
  • Experienced in national and/or international research projects and collaborations.
  • Publications in indexed relevant journals.
  • Oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Motivation to pursue the goals of the project.
SELECTION CRITERIA
  • Adequacy of the candidate's training to the requested profile.
  • Work experience related to the profile of the job position.
  • Knowledge of English.
  • Motivation for accomplishing high-quality research.
CONDITIONS
  • Remuneration: Between 38.000 € – 41.000€ per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.

    *The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.

    Duration of the contract:  Until 31st December 2026
