DESCRIPTION

IMDEA Energy is opening a Research Assistant Position for the Thermochemical Processes Unit, looking for talented and motivated candidates to work on the research for an efficient oligomerization of C2-C4 olefins into hydrocarbons in the jet-fuel range in the MAD VUELA SOSTENIBLE project. In particular, the MAD VUELA SOSTENIBLE, a project granted by the Regional Government of Madrid, aims to research on new technologies to produce sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) with a low carbon footprint from wastes.

The requirements are as follows:

Tasks Description:

• Revision of the state of the art of the fundamentals and progress related to the project.
• Synthesis and characterization of catalysts for oligomerization reactions.
• Adjustment of the reaction system and screening the activity of catalysts.
• Participation in the preparation of reports.

REQUIREMENTS

Compulsory Requirements:

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, applied chemistry or equivalent, finished in the last 5 years.

Other merits to value:

• Master’s degree in the area of Chemical Engineering, chemistry or equivalent.
• Knowledge and experimental practice on heterogeneous catalysis.
• Knowledge and experimental practice on analytical techniques.
• Oral and written communication skills in English.
• Motivation to pursue the goals of the project.

SELECTION CRITERIA

• Adequacy of the candidate's training to the requested profile.
• Work experience related to the job position.
• Knowledge of English.
• Motivation for accomplishing high-quality research.

CONDITIONS

• Remuneration: Between 18.000 € – 20.000 € per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.

*The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.

• Duration of the contract:  Until 31st December 2026
