The Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares Carlos III (F.S.P.) CNIC has been conceived to develop research of excellence, competitive and of international relevance in relation to cardiovascular diseases. The CNIC has a research center of 24,000 m2, located in Madrid, with more than 6,000 m2 for laboratories equipped with a state-of-the-art infrastructure and equipment.

The CNIC is considering applications for a Graduate specialized in bioinformatics to join the Bioinformatics Unit led by Dr. Sánchez-Cabo. For additional information about the CNIC Bioinformatics Unit: https://www.cnic.es/en/investigacion/bioinformatics

Funtions:

The selected candidate will work as a Bioinformatician on the project ATHEROCLONAL aiming to identify new drivers of clonal hematopoiesis.

Las tareas expuestas estarán englobadas dentro del marco del proyecto de investigación titulado: Somatic mutations and clonal hematopoiesis as drivers of atherosclerosis: from the laboratory to the clinic (AtheroClonal) con referencia PLEC2021-008194, financiado por MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 y por la Unión Europea “NextGenerationEU”/PRTR.

 

 

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Graduate in life sciences or similar discipline
  • Master in Bioinformatics

Valuable Requirements

  • Experience working with scripting languages (R/python scripting) (must be reflected in the CV and will be valued according to the number of years or fraction and number of known techniques).
  • Experience analyzing omics data (must be reflected in the CV and will be valued according to the number of years or fraction).
  • Experience in the bioinformatics inference of protein structure (must be reflected in the CV and will be valued according to the number of years or fraction).
  • Experience working in High Performance Computing  (must be reflected in the CV and will be valued according to the number of years or fraction and number of known techniques).

Selection Plan:

The RESOLUTION OF THE SECRETARIAT OF STATE FOR PUBLIC FUNCTION APPROVING THE COMMON ACTION CRITERIA FOR THE RECRUITMENT PROCESSES IN THE STATE PUBLIC SECTOR ENTITIES of April 11, 2022, set forth in point 6.1 that “Unless a specific regulation establishes a merit-bases recruitment system (concurso), the competition (concurso-oposición) must be the recruitment system”

In CNIC, the specific regulations approved by the Foundation's board of trustees establish a merit-base recruitment system (concurso) including a personal interview.

At least three candidates with the highest score (as long as they reach the minimum of 60 points as a sum of criteria (C1-C4) will be interviewed. The candidate with the highest score will be hired given the total score (C1-C5) reaches 75 points.

De acuerdo con el art. 2.2 de la Ley 20/2021, de 28 de diciembre, de medidas urgentes para la reducción de la temporalidad en el empleo público y la “Resolución de la secretaría de estado de función pública por la que se aprueban los criterios de actuación comunes en los procesos selectivos de las entidades del sector” de 11/04/2022, el proceso se resolverá con anterioridad al 31 de diciembre de 2024.
