Researcher in Training Position at IMDEA Energy to work on“Development of Innovative Redox Polymers for Next-Generation Batteries”
The IMDEA Energy Institute is a María de Maeztu Unit of Excellence with the mission of developing world-class R&D in the field of clean and renewable energy technologies. The Institute aims at contributing to the establishment of a sustainable energy system with a high degree of decarbonisation, economically competitive and securing energy supply (www.energy.imdea.org).The Electrochemical Processes Unit of IMDEA Energía is performing research and development of high-efficiency electrochemical energy storage devices, mainly for coupling them with renewable energy sources and for sustainable transport. IMDEA Energía is opening a position for a “Researcher in Training” to work on Development of Innovative Redox Polymers for Next-Generation Batteries, with the following characteristics:
Your Tasks:
Synthesis of redox-active monomers and polymers.
Investigation of their physico-chemical properties.
Electrochemical characterization of both monomers and polymers.
Preparation of organic electrodes and redox electrolytes.
Assembly & Electrochemical Testing of polymer-based batteries.
Dissemination and publication of research results in scientific journals.
Your qualification, experience and skillsCompulsory requirements:
Bachelor degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar.
Master degree in Organic Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Electrochemistry or similar.
Having no more than 4 years in possession of an official degree. Fluent oral and written communication skills in English.
Moreover, the following aspects will be positively evaluated:
Knowledge and/or Hand-on experience in Organic Synthesis and/or Polymer Synthesis.
Knowledge and/or Hand-on experience in Electrochemistry.
Location: Móstoles, Madrid, Spain.
Remuneration: 13.300 € annual gross salary.
Duration: One-year appointment.
