The Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares Carlos III (F.S.P.) CNIC has been conceived to develop research of excellence, competitive and of international relevance in relation to cardiovascular diseases. The CNIC has a research center of 24,000 m2, located in Madrid, with more than 6,000 m2 for laboratories equipped with a state-of-the-art infrastructure and equipment.
CNIC is searching to hire a Postdoctoral researcher with experience in the field of neurovascular disease to join the group of Neurovascular Pathophysiology, directed by Dr. MA Moro.
Mandatory requirements:
- PhD in the field of biomedicine.
- Research experience in the field of neurovascular disease, proven with publications as a first/last author in the field.
- Not having exhausted the maximum time established for contracts to access the Spanish system of science, technology and innovation in accordance with article 22 of the "Ley de la Ciencia".
Assessable requirements:
- Experience in animal models of cerebrovascular disease (ischaemic and hemorrhagic stroke models) and stereotactic surgery.
- Experience in the study of the molecular basis of inflammation, oxidative stress, neuronal death and damage to the blood brain barrier in cerebrovascular disease.
- Experience in the analysis of the neuroreparative response (neurogenesis, angiogenesis) after ischaemic cerebrovascular insults.
- Experience in behavioral and motor tests in rodents (Open Field, Irwin, NOL, NOR, Y-Maze, Footprint test, Freeze-frame, Barnes maze etc.).
- Interview.

Selection plan: At least the 3 candidates with the highest score (as long as they reach the minimum of 65 points as a sum of criteria C1-C4) will be interviewed. The candidate with the highest score will be hired given the total score (C1 –C5) is higher than 80 points.
