Research position in oligodendrocytes and myelin plasticity

We are interested in recruiting a motivated candidate (PhD student) to cover a research position at the Department of Neuroscience (UPV/EHU) and at the Achucarro Basque Center for Neuroscience.

The laboratory offers a 1-year contract funded by the Basque Government. However, it is expected that the successful candidate is able to attract funding of his/her own fellowship from the Basque Government, UPV/EHU, FPU program or La Caixa Foundation. The candidate will use chemogenetics in conjunction with electrophysiology and two-photon functional imaging to understand the impact of oligodendrocyte stimulation in myelin plasticity, in synaptic function and in behavior.

The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary and highly collaborative environment and will benefit from access to frontline technical resources, under the supervision of the Principal Investigators of the project Dr. María Domercq and Dr. Edgar Soria.
