Experiencia
We are looking for candidates to work in some of the following projects:
Biohybrid brain-machine interfaces for advanced bionic prostheses
Emergent properties of cooperating brains (anatomic and physiological bases)
Modulation of the immune system by non-invasive stimulation of the vagus nerve

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE CANDIDATES
We look for candidates with a strong motivation for scientific research, keen interest in translating scientific findings to practical applications. Ideal candidates should fulfill the following criteria:
 Hold a BS degree in a scientific discipline, engineer, or philosophy
 Be able to work across different disciplines
 Be able to formulate and solve scientific questions and to communicate the main results
 Have good planning skills
 Be enthusiastic team players but be also able to work alone
 Be fluent in English, both spoken and written
 Have good scientific writing skills

 Previous lab training in our fields is welcome but not necessary
 Additional experience relevant to their postgraduate studies (such as professional experience) is welcome but not necessary

WHO WE ARE

We are a Research Consortium formed by 6 Institutions: (1) Center for Biomedical Technology of the UPM; (2) Telecommunications School of the UPM; (3) Neuro-computing & Neuro-robotics Research Group of the UCM; (4) Regenerative Medicine in Neuroscience Research Group of the San Carlos Clinical Hospital; (5) Innovation Unit of the San Carlos Clinical Hospital; (6) Ophthalmology Service of la Paz Hospital.

Our research is centered on biohybrid materials for the regeneration of the nervous system, nano-biomaterials for drug and cell encapsulation, brain-machine interfaces, brain-to-brain and brain-to-internet connection, neuromodulation, brain plasticity, etc.
