A pre-doctoral position in molecular imaging neurosciences is offered to work on a collaborative and interdisciplinary project between the Neuroimaging and Biomarkers of Inflammation Group, led by Dr. Abraham Martín at Achucarro Basque Center for Neuroscience (Leioa, https://www.achucarro.org/research-groups) and the Radiochemistry and Nuclear Imaging Group, led by Dr. Jordi Llop at CIC biomaGUNE (San Sebastian, https://www.cicbiomagune.es/org/researchgroups). The candidate will participate in a translational project funded by The Foundation-La Marató de TV3, and aimed to investigate the blood-brain barrier dysfunction an oxidative stress modulation in brain arteriovenous malformations (AVMs). The project will use tools to mimic AVMs in rats and a battery of in vivo molecular imaging techniques (positron emission tomography –PET–, Magnetic resonance imaging –MRI–) together with ex vivo molecular biology, and immunohistochemical techniques to decipher the negative effect of AVMs at different molecular, cellular and tissue levels.
