A postdoctoral position is open at the IMDEA_SURF group at IMDEA Nanociencia. The position (for 5,5 months) will be funded by the project QUIMTRONIC-CM, within the call "ayudas para la realización de proyectos sinérgicos de I+D" of the Comunidad de Madrid.
The project deals with the controlled nano-structuration of molecule-based materials in a Scanning Tunnel Microscope and their subsequent transfer into functional nano-devices for (opto)electronic applications.
The candidate must hold a PhD in Organic Chemistry, a high level of written and spoken, and experience in the synthesis and characterization of electro-active molecules and chromophores.
The candidate will carry out the following tasks:
- Synthesis and characterization of electroactive molecules and chromophores (polycycle aromatic derivates, thiophene derivates or diimide naphtalene.
- Study the potential use of the cited molecules as models for deposition in metal surfaces and possible catalytic reactions between them using STM and AFM.
