PhD position titled: Metamaterial-Based Radiative Cooler: On the way to Energy-Free All-Day Cooling (MERITO).
We offer a contract of 3 years for the doctoral thesis. The project is supported by Ayuda al talento investigador de la Comunidad de Madrid and it will be developed at Functional Nanostructured devices for energy group (FINDER)” at Instituto de Micro y Nanotecnología (IMN), which belongs to Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC). The desired starting date is 1st of July 2020. El contrato está financiado a través del proyecto 2019-TI/IND-13541 del Programa de Atracción de Talento de la Comunidad de Madrid ( 2019 ).
During the doctoral thesis, the candidate will develop novel metamaterials with tailored photonic properties in the infrared to be used as radiative cooler for energy saving.

Our laboratory: FINDER is specialized in R&D&I of nanostructured materials for energy conversion in particular for thermoelectric applications. Our research covers from the synthesis and characterization of nanostructures to the industrial scalable device development. Our expertise has been recognized at international level and founded by European and Spanish research excellence projects.
Your profile:
- Master`s degree in engineering, physics or chemist.
- Good academics rates.
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English (both written and oral) are mandatory.
- Experience in COMSOL and/or LabView is considered advantageous.
- Motivation for research.
