Manager Coordinador (Técnico Senior)

The CNIC has been conceived to develop research of excellence, competitive and of international relevance in relation to cardiovascular diseases, and has been recognized as a Severo Ochoa center of Excellence since 2015. The CNIC is located in Madrid and has 24,000 m2, with more than 6,000 m2 for laboratories equipped with a state-of-the-art infrastructure and equipment.

The CNIC is searching for a Coordinator for the Research Office (RO), which supports CNIC’s Research Groups and Technical Units in a wide variety of processes, from grant and fellowship application, justification, budget monitoring, personnel recruitment, laboratory organization, basic laboratory techniques, laboratory equipment evaluation, and administrative tasks, and in the organization of scientific activities, among others. The RO is a hinge structure composed by scientific managers, logistics technicians and research assistants, aimed as a communication channel between the researchers and the general administrative structures of CNIC. The Coordinator of the RO reports to the scientific direction of the center.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordination of the RO: a multidisciplinary group of approximately 20 professionals including managers, administrative assistants, logistics technicians and other highly qualified staff who offer support to the research groups.
  • Budget management and expenses control of the RO and of the assigned research groups.
  • Support in preparation and management of the center´s key grant applications.
  • Support in the preparation of reports and public tenders.
  • Support in the selection processes of personnel to be incorporated into both RO and assigned research groups.
  • Support in the general organization and development (both RO and assigned research groups).
  • Provide direct support to allocated research groups.
  • Prepare with the guidance of the scientific direction global strategies of the RO.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Masters´ / PhD degree in Biomedical Sciences, or alternatively a master´s degree in any other field in case the candidate has at least 5 years of management experience in the field of biomedicine.
  • At least 4 years of experience in leading / managing personnel.

THE CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION:

  • Management knowledge and expertise in international & national grant schemes (ERCs, ERANETs, ITNs, Coordinated multi-partner projects, SAF/BFU, FIS, REDES, CIBER, BBVA, Fundació la MARATÓ, Fundació la Caixa, etc.).
  • Experience in budgeting and selection of personnel.
  • Experience in the redaction of scientific documents and public tenders.
  • Interview: At least 3 candidates with the highest score (as long as they reach the minimum of 65 points in the total of the previous categories) will be interviewed.
