The Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares Carlos III (F.S.P.) CNIC has been conceived to develop research of excellence, competitive and of international relevance in relation to cardiovascular diseases. The CNIC has a research center of 24,000 m2, located in Madrid, with more than 6,000 m2 for laboratories equipped with a state-of-the-art infrastructure and equipment.

CNIC is searching to hire a Postdoctoral researcher with experience in the role of neuroinflammation and adult hippocampal neurogenesis in vascular cognitive impairment, to join the group of Neurovascular Pathophysiology, directed by Dr. MA Moro.

Mandatory requirements:

• PhD in the field of biomedicine.
• A minimum of 4 years of research experience in the field of neuroinflammation and hippocampal neurogenesis in vascular cognitive impairment.
• PhD degree must have been obtained in the last 5 years.
• Not holding an internship contract in Spain based on the same academic degree in other companies.

Assessable requirements:

• Experience in animal models of cerebrovascular disease, specifically, in stroke and vascular dementia models.
• Experience in the study of adult neurogenesis and of neuroinflammatory parameters in the rodent brain.
• Experience in behavioral tests for memory, anxiety, depression and motor skills.
• Experience in molecular biology techniques.
• Interview.

Selection plan: At least the 3 candidates with the highest score (as long as they reach the minimum of 65 points as a sum of criteria C1-C4) will be interviewed. The candidate with the highest score will be hired given the total score (C1 –C5) is higher than 80 points.
